A.S.H. Auctions Est 1994 .
Serving the people of Staffordshire for over 30 years
The following paragraphs will tell you all you need to know about selling with one of the longest running auction houses in the area.
Entries are invited for all future auctions. If you wish to consign, whether a single item or an entire house content, please contact us to discuss how we can help and a brief description of what you are thinking of selling. We can then discuss the next steps whether it be a simple drop off or a pickup or if you require any valuations. We can assess all types of items free of charge with no obligation to consign.

We will ensure your items are entered into the next available auction. If you decide to consign you will receive a vendor’s entry form, please retain this as it is a record of your instruction to sell and acts as a contract with A.S.H. Auctions.
Drop Offs
If you decide to drop your items off at our saleroom, days and times will be discussed. There is usually plenty of parking on Grange Street or if necessary, we have court yard to the other side of the premises.
Collections
If you are unable to drop your items off at the saleroom, we offer a collection service for lots you wish to consign to auction. The cost is based on the time we spend travelling, plus the time it takes to load and unload our vans.
Please see our general fees below:
Small collections – £20 an hour (one man, one van, per journey)
Large collections – £30 per hour (two-man, one van, per journey)
Reserves
Unless agreed, and listed, with the consigning valuer, items will be offered without reserve. If you wish to secure a minimum return on your item/items, we can apply a reserve price where appropriate.
Charges
Our fees cover all aspects of the auction process including cataloguing, photography, and internet coverage on two bidding platforms: www.easyliveAuction.com and www.ashauctions.co.uk .
Selling Commission
· 18% (All In) (For General, Antiques & Collectables items of one to hundred lots)
· 16% (All In) (For General, Antiques & Collectables items over hundred lots)
· 12% (All In) (For any single General, Antiques & Collectables item that sells for £500.00 and over)
· 0% (For any single gold jewellery, watches, coins etc item that sells for £250.00 and over)
· 5% (All In) (For registered charities)
A.S.H. Auctions unlike most auction houses have never charged an entry fee or as sometimes called a lotting up fee, and we hope we never have to.
The only other small charge is an unsold charge on lots that have had a reserve price put on by the vendor. This charge is just to cover our costs and will be discussed with you when you consign your lots.
Withdrawal
If you wish to withdraw your item after it has been catalogued for auction, there will be a charge of 17% based on the mid-estimate, with a minimum of £5.00.
Pre-Sale Advice
Before the auction you will receive a Pre-Sale Advice, either by email or post, listing the lots you have coming up for auction. This will include sale information, lot number, description, final estimate, and reserve prices, if agreed. To amend your Pre-Sale Advice, please contact us immediately.
Post-Sale Advice
Following the auction, you will receive a Post-Sale Advice, either by email or post, detailing the hammer price of your item/items.
Payment
You will receive payment by BACS, together with a statement detailing the hammer price and deductions, seven days from the last day of sale. If you require payment by cash this will be available fourteen day from the last day of sale. If, however, you require payment by cheque there will be an additional administration fee of £2.50 which will be deducted from your payment. As we function as the agent, payments are made to the vendor after the purchaser’s payment has cleared.
Unsold Items
Any unsold items will be noted on your post-sale advice with a note advising whether they will be reoffered into the next appropriate auction with reduced reserves/estimates. On some occasions we will ask you to collect the unsold items if we feel they will not sell in a future sale.
Collection & Storage
If you wish to collect unsold lots, this can be arranged with the saleroom by booking an appointment within seven working days of advisement. A.S.H. Auctions reserve the right to re-sell to cover the storage charges if not collected within the agreed period. If items are not collected, there will be a charge of £1.00 per lot, per day.
A.S.H. Auctions will not accept claims for any loss or damage of items uncollected within seven working days of advisement .Additionally, after this period storage charges will be applied, and will be payable prior to collection. If the lot(s) are not collected within a month of advisement, A.S.H. Auctions reserve the right to sell uncollected items under the company’s name to recover any storage costs.
