Television Crew Film The Sale For The Program "Antiques Road Trip" |
|
SPECIAL EVENT SUNDAY 30th MAY 2010 We have recently been approached by a Television Company to be one of the Auction Houses featured in the program called "Antiques Road Trip". Both parties have agreed all arrangements and the event will take place at our Cobridge Hall Sale Rooms on Sunday 30th May 2010 If you are not familiar with the program, it basically is televised each week. The program follows 2 experts as they travel around a section of the country in a classic car. Each episode sees them buy about 3 items each along their travels, which they take to auction in the hope of making some profit. This will give them more money to spend on the next leg of the journey. The series will follow 12 experts in total, as between them they cover the whole of the United Kingdom over the 30 episodes that make up the series. The experts include Phillip Serrell, David Barby, James Braxton and Anita Manning. For the program filmed at A.S.H. Auctions on the 30th May the experts will be Mark Stacey & Charlie Ross. This will be the second series of Antiques Road trip that they are currently working on. The first series, which aired on BBC2 just before Easter this year, was a great success with over 2 million people viewing each episode. They also had great feedback from both the general public and I am pleased to say, from Auction houses and Antique shops alike. As well as this the programme also is very much a celebration of the various area's they travel to, their local history heritage and connections with antiques and collectables. The Television crew are only a small unit who come from a background of observational filming so they will try their best to have as little impact on the auction day as possible. For filming they have 3 cameras, two are fixed and static, one towards the auctioneer the other towards a section of the bidders ( N/B They always create a safe area where any bidders who do not wish to be on camera can stand/sit). The third camera is hand held on the experts and that cameraman is adept at staying out of peoples way. They will not interrupt the auction in any way, but will have a chat with the auctioneer before the auction about their thoughts on the items our experts have bought and also get shots of the porter holding up each of the items. The 6 Items will not follow on from one another, there will be about 5 maybe 6 items in between each one, so that it gives the experts time to chat about the outcome of each of their items. |
