The response was again amazing, Mr Rhod Davies arrived at the sale rooms at 4.30 With Top Designer/Modeller Mr Andy Moss and were greeting by a packed auction room. Andy had with him a new model in clay form that he was designing and Rhod had the latest

edition to the 1940s Series "Marilyn Munroe"

We had hoped to have 35 lots for Rhod to sign, but in the end we had 53 Lots and what a fantastic display it was.

I introduced Rhod and Andy and once more the whole room echoed with the sound of

applause. Rhod came to the front and thanked everyone for their support over the last few Months and also thanked ourselves A.S.H.Auctions for helping them through a very difficult trading period.

The first lot No 016 was the figurine "The Harlequin" which sold for £130.00 but when we got to Lot No 130B the room fell silent as two collectors we battling to win the figurine that had never been put into production and had no name. It finally sold for a

staggering £300.00.

We kept the stars of the signing event until last, these being the new editions to the

factory, the wonderful Grotesque Bird Series. Just before they came up for sale we were joined by their designer The famous Mr Robert Tabbenor. The first bird the handpainted "The Secret Keeper" was Lot No 150 this was the artist's original Proof. We had put an

estimate of £128/£213 on this item, but it exceeded this and sold for £360.00.

We all thought that was going to be the top seller but we were completely wrong .We had put an estimate of between £173 and £288 on Lot No 152 the handpainted artist's proof bird "The Phoenix" but this was completely shattered when it sold for an amazing £500.00.

The Phoenix rose from the ashes and I'm sure that it will help Rhod and everyone at Kevin Francis/Peggy Davies Studio's with all the other wonderful birds and figurines that they produce a secure a wonderful future for the Company.

We hope to see them again for another signing event in the near future.
